Applications

Sensing at the Nanometer Scale

Magnetometry, current imaging and more

Scanning NV provides quantitative magnetic field data at the nanometer scale with high sensitivity and non-invasively. This makes it ideally suited for the study of novel magnetic materials, such as antiferromagnets or multiferroics. Industrial applications include the development of MRAM and other next-generation memories as well as characterization of shielding in write heads.

Quantum microscopy can also visualize and quantify current paths and current densities via their magnetic field. It is a new tool for looking at transport physics as well as developing transistors and analyzing failures in integrated circuits.

And there is more: coherent manipulation of the NV enables a wide range of spectroscopy studies such as relaxometry and magnetic noise measurements.
